Client: IA, Interior Architects, Inc. (10/2000-12/2006)
Already a leading, global interior architecture firm, IA came to me because their website had been on "auto pilot" for a very long time and was very out of date. Working with the Director of Corporate Communications, I was able to create a Flash-based Portfolio, re-energized Boilerplate and News sections, and improve the usability and back-end structure of the site. Other projects to date include a fully re-conceived Employee Intranet and Flash-based announcements for clients and staff.

Client: Vital Vittles (10/2005)
If bread could possibly have the power to save the world, Vital Vittle's is that bread. Fully "organic" and wholesome since 1976, this mom-and-pop in Berkeley, CA has a great assortment of breads and other goods that retail in stores throughout California. However, the owners needed guidance on internet issues, and management of the company website and online storefront. Emotive Design has worked with Vital to achieve a more attractive website that is clearer, easier to navigate, and that presents the company and products in a more compelling way to their customers.

Client: DVD Copycat (9/2004, 10/2006)
A repeat customer, DVD Copycat's original website was so successful we have recently created a whole new site that more effectively segments and targets the large volume of visitors to the site. From the beginning, we have worked together to plan DVD Copycat's website structure and message, and it's relationship to their overall marketing plan. "I'm really excited about the website. It's exactly what I wanted." (Brian Fisher, owner DVD Copycat)

Client: Farhad Parsa, Photographer (7/2003-10/2006)
This website is the internet showcase for photographer and film maker Farhad Parsa. In keeping with photography's typically minimal design aesthetic, this site focuses on the images/video with as little design intervention as possible. This simple, modern, and elegant site is the third generation of websites we've done for Mr. Parsa. Pretty much the only instruction he gave me for designing the site was, "Make it simple and very light, almost completely white."

Client: Santa Cruz Film Festival (4/2004)
2004 was the third year of this festival, which brings the best venues in Santa Cruz together with some of the most creative films being made from throughout the world. The festival's management needed a new website for 2004 that built on the tradition of the previous two years and also made the festival's information easily accessible.

www.415-666-0666.com (10/2002-11/2004)
Visitors to this site can listen to phone messages left by callers, hear our "Voice Hell" sonic experiments, or submit odes from the gut of our culture. A key motive was to get "the people" involved in our hijinks and contribute their own creativity, creating a community resource. Of sorts. This project, still in its infancy, has left the womb to wander the world in search of truth. As far as we know, it is still the only site of it's kind linking the telephone and internet with MP3 files. Call now!

Client: Powerbar (9/2000)
As Lead Designer at a Internet design company, our client wanted compelling, "in your face" graphics that conveyed Energy, Sports, and Nutrition. More than just an online presence, Powerbar's website was to be a portal for people with active lifestyles, featuring tips and outdoor information, as well as information on Powerbar's sponsored professional athletes, high school and college programs, Olympic coverage, and energy bar products. The site was built in ASP with database-driven content but never live due to business reasons.

Client: Undst, online DJ site (9/2000)
Conceived as the web's center for DJs and electronic music culture, I began this project by leading naming and identity brainstorms which resulted in "Undst"--an original word which sounds like dance music when said repeatedly: undst undst undst.... The mark is meant to be dynamic, fluid, unique, and to reference the letter "U" and a musical note. A complete web interface was designed for reviews, music streams, account management, etc.
